As Justin Thomas prepares to compete at this week’s PGA Championship, he’s not only drawing attention for his quest to secure a third Wanamaker Trophy—but also for the striking Rolex watch seen on his wrist during pre-tournament press duties.
Speaking Tuesday morning at Quail Hollow, the two-time PGA Championship winner discussed his game and the course. However, much of the media’s attention turned to the unique timepiece Thomas was wearing—believed to be the Rolex Day-Date 36 ‘Puzzle Dial,’ a luxury watch with an estimated value of $250,000.
Thomas, who has been affiliated with Rolex since 2014, is part of an elite group of golfers with sponsorships from prestigious watchmakers. The Day-Date 36 stands out with its jigsaw puzzle-inspired dial and a message beneath the 12 o’clock marker. Thomas’s model features the word “Peace,” though other versions offer alternatives like “Happy,” “Eternity,” “Gratitude,” “Faith,” “Love,” and “Hope.”
In addition, the watch includes a date window at the 3 o’clock position that rotates through a variety of emojis—revealing a different symbol each day.
The Rolex Day-Date isn’t the only high-end timepiece in Thomas’s collection. He has also been seen wearing a Rolex Daytona crafted from 18k white gold. Fellow Rolex ambassadors on the PGA Tour include major names such as Tiger Woods, Brooks Koepka, and Jon Rahm. Rolex also maintains a significant presence in the golf world as the official timekeeper and partner of the PGA Tour.
Luxury watches were a noticeable trend at recent golf events. At The Masters, Rory McIlroy—who completed the Career Grand Slam with a Green Jacket victory—wore an Omega De Ville Tourbillon valued at $137,000. He was also spotted with an Omega Speedmaster “Silver Snoopy Award” watch, retailing for $15,000.
However, these figures pale in comparison to the timepiece worn by two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson. His ‘Richard Mille RM 38-02 Tourbillon Bubba Watson’ comes with an eye-watering retail price of $2.5 million.
Richard Mille’s presence in golf extends beyond Watson. World No. 1 Nelly Korda is also sponsored by the brand and was seen wearing the RM 07-04 model during the Solheim Cup—a watch reportedly worth $350,000.
As the PGA Championship unfolds, eyes will remain fixed not only on the leaderboard but also on the wrists of the world’s best golfers, where luxury and performance continue to go hand in hand.
