Every year, Apple marks Pride Month, which takes place in June, with special releases to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. This tradition continues in 2025, as Apple introduces its new Pride Edition Sport Band for the Apple Watch, accompanied by themed wallpapers for iPhone and iPad, as well as a watch face tailored for the occasion.
A Unique Design Concept
This year’s Pride Edition Sport Band is unlike any previous model. Each band is one of a kind, crafted with a tapestry of rainbow stripes that vary in shape and size. These individual stripes are hand-assembled and compression-molded together, creating subtle yet distinct variations. Apple emphasizes that no two bands are identical, symbolizing the individuality of the LGBTQ+ community.
Apple’s Pride band also features thoughtful packaging, including full-color instructions rather than the usual monochrome. The illustration on the box displays an approximation of the band itself, highlighting how each one is uniquely patterned.
Distinctive Aesthetic and Comfort
The band’s vibrant colors are not the only standout feature. While the hues differ slightly from one band to another, they are meticulously aligned to ensure a seamless visual flow when the band is fastened. Made from Apple’s signature fluoroelastomer material, the band maintains the comfort and suppleness typical of the brand’s accessories.
A Dynamic Watch Face
Unlike previous Pride bands, which often blended visually with the Apple Watch face, the 2025 edition takes a different approach. The new watch face displays blocky numbers representing the hour, with colors that change dynamically throughout the day. While the abstract design requires a moment to interpret, the effect is both modern and eye-catching. Additionally, the analog-style face includes a second-hand and offers space for complications, providing both aesthetic appeal and practical functionality.
Versatile Sizing and Compatibility
The Pride Edition Sport Band is available in three sizes—40mm, 42mm, and 46mm—catering to both S/M and M/L lengths. This versatility ensures compatibility with all Apple Watch models, including the Ultra and Ultra 2.
