Vivo has introduced the iQOO Watch 5, the latest addition to its smartwatch lineup, succeeding last year’s iQOO Watch. Priced competitively at approximately $111 (CNY 799), the new model brings several upgrades, including optional eSIM connectivity, built-in GPS, and a bright 1,500-nit AMOLED display.
The iQOO Watch 5 maintains the 1.43-inch screen size of its predecessor but enhances the design with a rounded AMOLED panel that delivers a smooth 60 Hz refresh rate, reminiscent of the Google Pixel Watch 3’s display. The watch promises impressive battery longevity, offering up to 22 days of use in standard smartwatch mode. However, enabling GPS or the eSIM feature significantly reduces battery life.
Notably, the iQOO Watch 5 functions independently of a paired smartphone, thanks to integrated speakers and microphones that facilitate Bluetooth calls. Vivo also highlights iOS compatibility, broadening the watch’s appeal beyond Android users.
Targeting fitness enthusiasts, the smartwatch supports over 100 sports modes and offers comprehensive health tracking capabilities, including heart rate monitoring, SpO2 measurement, and menstrual cycle tracking.
Vivo’s new release marks an unusual jump in its product numbering, skipping straight from the original iQOO Watch to the Watch 5—just weeks after unveiling the Vivo Watch 5 under its main brand. Unlike the more premium Vivo Watch 5, which offers a stainless steel case option, the iQOO Watch 5 positions itself as a more sports-oriented model.
Currently available in China with prices ranging from CNY 799 to CNY 999 (about $111 to $139), Vivo has yet to confirm plans for a global launch.
