Samsung is preparing to unveil its next-generation smartwatches—the Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch 8 Classic—following recent regulatory approvals that signal the devices are close to release. Both models have obtained 3C certification in China, a crucial step that often precedes a product launch.
The 3C listing, uncovered by Xpertpick, identifies two model numbers: SM-L3350 and SM-L5050, which are widely believed to correspond to the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic, respectively. Industry sources suggest the official announcement is likely scheduled for July 2025, coinciding with the launch of Samsung’s anticipated foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7.
Details from the certification reveal that both smartwatches will support LTE connectivity and offer 10W charging capabilities. The devices may also be compatible with Samsung’s EP-T1510 travel charger. While the 3C listing itself provides limited information, previous leaks and the FCC certification page have shed more light on the upcoming features. According to these disclosures, the Galaxy Watch 8 series will support LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, along with both wired and wireless charging.
Consistent with Samsung’s recent smartwatch lineup, the new models are expected to come in multiple sizes. Last year’s Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra debuted alongside Samsung’s foldable phones in July, reinforcing expectations for a similar release window this year.
Notably, Samsung is reintroducing the Classic variant with the Galaxy Watch 8 after its absence in the Watch 7 series. However, it remains uncertain whether a new iteration of the Watch Ultra will be launched in 2025. More details are expected as the release date approaches.
