Xiaomi’s Redmi has expanded its wearable lineup with the launch of the Redmi Watch 5 Lite, a budget-friendly smartwatch featuring an always-on AMOLED display. The device follows last month’s release of the Redmi Watch 5 Active but upgrades to a sharper, brighter screen and additional smart features.
Enhanced Display and Customization
The Redmi Watch 5 Lite sports a 1.96-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 502×410 pixels, offering improved clarity over its LCD-equipped sibling. With 600 nits peak brightness, the display remains visible even in direct sunlight. Users can choose from 200+ cloud-based watch faces, including 50+ customizable options and 30+ always-on designs.
Smart Features and Connectivity
Running on HyperOS, the smartwatch is compatible with Android 6 and iOS 12 or later. It integrates Alexa voice support, enabling voice commands and smart home control. The device also supports Bluetooth calling, equipped with dual microphones and environmental noise cancellation (ENC) for clearer audio. Additionally, it offers emoji and Hindi language support, catering to a wider user base.
Fitness and Health Tracking
The Redmi Watch 5 Lite includes a heart rate monitor, SpO2 sensor, and 150+ sports modes for both indoor and outdoor activities. With 5 ATM water resistance, it can track swimming sessions. Built-in GPS ensures accurate route mapping for runners and cyclists.
Long-Lasting Battery
Powered by a 470 mAh battery, the smartwatch delivers up to 18 days of typical use and 12 days under heavy usage. Other notable features include Bluetooth 5.3 for stable connectivity and a multi-functional side button for quick access to essential functions.
Pricing and Availability
Priced at ₹3,999 (approximately $50 or €40), the Redmi Watch 5 Lite will be available in India starting September 26 at midnight via Xiaomi’s official Indian website. The launch positions it as a competitive option in the budget smartwatch segment.
