Samsung has officially started rolling out its One UI 6 Watch update to older Galaxy smartwatches, bringing a suite of new health, fitness, and usability improvements. The update, based on Wear OS 5, introduces AI-powered wellness insights, advanced sleep tracking, and improved device integration for a more seamless user experience.
AI Health Monitoring and Advanced Fitness Tools
Among the standout features in One UI 6 Watch are AI-powered health tips, FDA-cleared sleep apnea detection, and Energy Score, a new metric designed to help users assess post-workout recovery. These enhancements, previously highlighted in Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 7, Galaxy Ring, and Ultra reviews, aim to provide deeper health insights.
Fitness enthusiasts will also benefit from Workout Routine, which allows users to combine different exercises into custom sessions, and Race, a feature enabling runners and cyclists to compare current and past performance data.
Improved Watch Faces and Galaxy Ecosystem Integration
Beyond health tracking, the update introduces new watch faces and enhances interoperability with Galaxy smartphones. Users can now take advantage of AI-generated suggested replies and the double-pinch gesture, previously limited to accessibility settings but now integrated into the main interface for quicker access.
Gradual Rollout Across Older Models
While the update is now live, Samsung confirms it will first reach the Galaxy Watch 6, followed by the Galaxy Watch FE, Galaxy Watch 5, and Galaxy Watch 4 in the coming weeks. Users of these models should watch for notifications as the rollout progresses.
With One UI 6 Watch, Samsung continues to refine its wearable experience, blending AI-driven health insights with smoother cross-device functionality—keeping even older Galaxy smartwatches competitive in the evolving wearables market.
