Meistersinger makes a striking entrance at Watches and Wonders 2025 with the launch of its all-new Kaenos collection. This release follows the introduction of the women’s Yaraa line in late 2024 and reinforces the brand’s commitment to minimalist, precision-driven design. The name “Kaenos” derives from the Greek word “kainos,” meaning “new,” symbolizing both innovation and a nod to the Cenozoic era—a period of renewal in Earth’s history.
Signature Simplicity Meets Sporty Sophistication
True to Meistersinger’s legacy, the Kaenos features the brand’s iconic single-hand display, offering timekeeping with five-minute precision. However, this collection marks a departure with its sportier aesthetic. The watches boast a robust 100-meter water resistance, an integrated stainless steel bracelet, and a luminous dial for enhanced readability. Two distinct models anchor the lineup: the classic Kaenos with a date window at 6 o’clock and the Kaenos Open Date, which incorporates Meistersinger’s signature date-ring design, previously seen in the Pangaea Day Date.
Layered Dials and Striking Colorways
The Kaenos collection offers four dial variations: a matte night black, light grey, ice blue, and petrol—each with a sunburst finish that shifts dynamically under light. The two-layer dial construction features cut-out numerals and indices, revealing a luminous underlayer for a striking 3D effect. Brushed stainless steel hands, inspired by vintage measuring instruments, complement the polished-and-brushed 40mm case, while the integrated bracelet ensures a seamless silhouette.
Swiss Precision Under the Hood
Powering the Kaenos is the Sellita SW400 automatic movement, chosen for its ability to accommodate a large date display. The Open Date variant uses the SW200 caliber, both offering a 38-hour power reserve and visible through a sapphire caseback. The date mechanism transitions smoothly at midnight, maintaining Meistersinger’s reputation for functional elegance.
Collaborative Limited Editions with Alain Silberstein
Adding to the excitement, Meistersinger unveiled two limited-edition Kaenos models co-designed with Alain Silberstein. Limited to 250 pieces each, these bold iterations feature vibrant colors and Silberstein’s avant-garde aesthetic. The Grand Date and Open Date special editions retail for €4,100 ($4,470) and €4,400 ($4,800), respectively.
Pricing and Availability
The standard Kaenos starts at €2,650 (~$2,890), while the Open Date version is priced at €2,950 (~$3,220). Both models will hit the market in April 2025, offering collectors a fresh take on Meistersinger’s distinctive horological philosophy.
