Swiss luxury watchmaker Girard-Perregaux has launched the Laureato Chronograph Aston Martin Edition, a high-end timepiece priced at $22,700. Developed in collaboration with British automaker Aston Martin, the watch features a striking 42 mm case and an iridescent green dial, paying homage to Aston Martin’s iconic British Racing Green heritage.
The partnership between the two brands dates back to 2021, with this latest release marking their fifth collaborative creation. The watch incorporates grade five titanium, a material also used in Aston Martin’s Valkyrie hypercar, blending automotive innovation with haute horology.
A Nod to Racing Heritage and Modern Craftsmanship
Since 1922, green has been synonymous with Aston Martin, particularly in motorsport. Today, the automaker offers nine exclusive shades of green, with this timepiece showcasing a unique iridescent variant. The case and bracelet combine brushed and polished finishes, creating a dynamic contrast that enhances its elegance.
Girard-Perregaux CEO Patrick Pruniaux explained the inspiration behind the design: “We wanted to merge our expertise with Aston Martin’s, resulting in a dial crafted from automotive-grade paint in a shade deeply connected to the brand. The process was intricate, but the final product reflects the excellence of both industries.”
Aston Martin’s Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman added: “Our cars are more than just vehicles—they’re an expression of personality and passion. The same emotions resonate with owning a finely crafted watch like this.”
Limited Availability and Competitive Alternatives
Only 188 units of the Laureato Chronograph Aston Martin Edition will be produced, enhancing its exclusivity. However, collectors may also consider the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph, which features a similar 41 mm green-dial design and a comparable price point.
While the Royal Oak offers a well-established luxury appeal, the Laureato’s limited production and bespoke Aston Martin touches make it a standout choice for enthusiasts of both brands.
