The latest collaboration between Swatch and Blancpain introduces the Bioceramic Scuba Fifty Fathoms Pink Ocean, a striking timepiece that makes a statement with its vivid pink hues. Drawing inspiration from the Ceratodoris rosacea—a colorful nudibranch, or sea slug—the watch features dynamic shades of magenta and rose, continuing the collection’s marine-themed aesthetic.
True to its diving heritage, the watch maintains a water resistance of 50 fathoms (91 meters), paying homage to Blancpain’s legendary Fifty Fathoms line.
Bioceramic Construction and Functional Design
The 42.3mm case, standing 14.4mm tall, is crafted from Swatch’s proprietary Bioceramic material, combining durability with lightweight comfort. A unidirectional Bioceramic bezel with a 3D glossy bio-sourced glass insert complements the light pink dial, which features a textured, grainy finish.
For enhanced readability, the Arabic numerals, markers, and hands are coated with Grade A Superluminova, ensuring clarity in low-light conditions. A date window with white numerals on a matching pink background adds practicality.
Innovative Movement and Eco-Conscious Strap
Powering the watch is Swatch’s SISTEM51 self-winding movement, renowned for its 90-hour power reserve and anti-magnetic Nivachron hairspring. Comprising just 51 parts and secured by a single central screw, the movement is visible through the transparent caseback, adorned with an illustration of the ocean and a vibrant nudibranch.
The two-piece NATO-style strap, made from recycled fishing nets, ensures durability while showcasing the movement beneath. Both the pin buckle and loops are also crafted from Bioceramic, reinforcing the watch’s sustainable design.
A Nod to Marine Conservation
As with previous releases in the Scuba Fifty Fathoms series, the Pink Ocean edition blends playful aesthetics with technical precision, celebrating marine biodiversity while promoting eco-friendly materials.
This limited-edition timepiece is expected to attract both watch enthusiasts and fashion-forward collectors when it hits stores.
