Richard Mille and Ferrari have deepened their partnership with the launch of the RM 43-01 Tourbillon Split-Seconds Chronograph, a bold new timepiece that blends cutting-edge watchmaking with automotive-inspired design. Following the record-breaking RM UP-01, this latest creation marks a return to Richard Mille’s signature tonneau-shaped case, now infused with Ferrari’s racing DNA.
Crafted from lightweight titanium or layered Carbon TPT, the RM 43-01 showcases a skeletonized movement with intricate detailing inspired by Ferrari’s iconic vehicles—from the SF90’s taillights to the exhaust of the new F80 flagship. Limited to just 75 pieces per variant, the watch is a testament to precision engineering and exclusivity.
A Masterpiece of Mechanical Innovation
At the heart of the RM 43-01 lies the new Caliber RM 43-01, a 514-component movement featuring a split-seconds chronograph, tourbillon, and torque indicator. The chronograph’s pushers offer seamless operation, while the 60-second tourbillon at 5 o’clock doubles as a running seconds display, its cage styled after Ferrari’s 499P race car.
Despite its complex mechanics, the watch remains wearable, with a curved case that hugs the wrist. The titanium model features red and gilt accents, while the Carbon TPT version boasts vibrant yellow highlights—each emphasizing different aspects of the movement’s architecture.
A Legacy of Performance and Prestige
Unveiled in Paris with former Formula 1 driver Felipe Massa in attendance, the RM 43-01 continues Richard Mille’s tradition of creating watches for elite athletes. Massa, a longtime brand ambassador, highlighted the timepiece’s resilience, drawing parallels to his racing days.
Priced at 1.535 million for the Carbon TPT, the RM 43-01 is as much a collector’s item as it is a feat of engineering. With its bold design and technical prowess, it embodies the shared ethos of Richard Mille and Ferrari: uncompromising performance, innovation, and emotion.
