Marking a decade since Huawei launched its first smartwatch, the tech giant has introduced its latest lineup of wearables in Singapore, including the Huawei Watch 5, the Watch Fit 4 series, and the FreeBuds 6 true wireless earbuds.
Huawei Watch 5: Enhanced Sensing and New Gestures
Building on its smartwatch legacy, the Huawei Watch 5 brings notable upgrades, most prominently the multi-sensing X-TAP feature. This advanced 10-level tactile sensor is pressure-sensitive and capable of monitoring six vital health metrics—such as heart rate variability, emotional well-being, and blood oxygen saturation—in just 60 seconds by simply holding a finger on the sensor.
The Watch 5 also supports new intuitive controls like Double Slide and Double Tap gestures, allowing users to manage calls, music playback, and even remotely control their smartphone camera. These gestures extend to select third-party social apps during voice calls, though Huawei has yet to specify which ones.
Available in two sizes, the 42mm Watch 5 sports a 904L stainless steel frame in Sand Gold and Beige, while the 46mm variant features aerospace-grade titanium in Purple, with both sizes also offering 316L stainless steel options. eSIM support ensures connectivity on the go, while battery life promises up to 4.5 days for the 46mm model and 3 days for the 42mm in Standard Mode.
The Huawei Watch 5 is priced at S$548, with early bird vouchers of S$30 available on Lazada and Shopee until 27 May 2025.
Huawei Watch Fit 4 Series: Fitness Meets Precision
Huawei’s Watch Fit 4 series introduces two models—the standard Watch Fit 4 and the Watch Fit 4 Pro. While physically similar, the Pro model is packed with enhanced features geared towards fitness enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers.
The Pro edition stands out with offline contour maps, checkpoint navigation, professional trail running modes, and over 15,000 golf course maps equipped with real-time GPS distance tracking. It also supports diving up to 40 meters and includes a dedicated freediving mode with live metrics. Moreover, it incorporates Huawei’s TruSense System for improved health and fitness monitoring.
Meanwhile, the standard Watch Fit 4 still offers offline navigation and route tracking for water sports such as sailing and swimming, alongside productivity features like voice notepad, quick message replies, remote camera shutter, and weather updates.
Both watches are compatible with Android and iOS devices. The Watch Fit 4 retails for S$168 and comes in White, Purple, Black, and Grey. The Watch Fit 4 Pro launches on 27 May 2025 at S$298 and is available in Blue, Green, and Black. Early bird vouchers worth S$15 apply for purchases on Lazada and Shopee until 27 May 2025.
Huawei FreeBuds 6: Advanced Audio Engineering
The FreeBuds 6 wireless earbuds mark Huawei’s latest innovation in open-ear true wireless audio devices, emphasizing lossless transmission and superior sound clarity.
Featuring 11mm dual-magnetic drivers and an enhanced acoustic architecture branded Bass Turbo 2.0, these earbuds deliver powerful audio performance. Huawei claims the FreeBuds 6 is its first open-ear design with dual drivers per earbud—a significant engineering achievement.
Lossless data transmission rates peak at 2.3Mbps when paired with Huawei’s Mate X6 smartphone, dropping to 1.5Mbps with Pura 70 series phones and 990Kbps with other devices. The earbuds support 24-bit/48kHz bitrate and L2HC 4.0 codec, surpassing CD-quality audio standards.
A new voice processing unit combining a bone conduction microphone and an independent cavity enhances call clarity and suppresses background noise up to 95dB.
Battery life extends to 5.5 hours per charge, with a total of 32 hours including the charging case.
The FreeBuds 6 retails at S$198 and is available in Purple, Black, and White. Pre-orders are open now, with a S$15 early bird discount valid on Lazada and Shopee until 27 May 2025.
