Xiaomi has launched the Watch S4 eSIM 15th Anniversary Edition at its 15th-anniversary event, marking a major step in its wearable technology strategy. Priced at 1,299 yuan (~$180), the smartwatch is now available in China in Black and Green Flame colorways.
Self-Developed Xring T1 Chip Powers Efficiency Gains
At the heart of the Watch S4 is Xiaomi’s in-house Xring T1 chip, which integrates a 4G modem and video codec module. Running at a 500MHz CPU frequency, the chip reportedly improves app launch speeds by 13% while reducing standby power consumption by 66%. Additionally, it cuts VoLTE power usage by 46% and data transmission power by 27%.
Premium Build and Display
The smartwatch sports a 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a 466 × 466 resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, and 2,200 nits peak brightness, protected by Dragon Crystal Glass. The 44.5-gram watch features a forged carbon bezel with “XRING INSIDE” engraving, a PVD-treated aluminum alloy casing, and a stainless steel frame. Strap options include fluoro rubber and woven nylon.
Advanced Health and Fitness Tracking
With 64MB RAM and 4GB storage, the Watch S4 supports 150+ sports modes, auto workout detection, AI-guided running, and Pro Ski Mode 2.0. Health monitoring features include heart rate tracking, SpO₂ measurement, stress analysis, sleep tracking, and women’s health insights. It also offers cuff-less blood pressure estimation via the Xiaomi Health Research app.
Connectivity and Smart Features
The watch supports eSIM for 4G calls and messaging, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC for payments, and dual-band GPS (L1+L5) with compatibility for GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and BeiDou. New additions include Bluetooth and network-based walkie-talkie functionality.
Battery and Software
Powered by a 486mAh battery, the Watch S4 delivers up to 9 days of typical eSIM usage and 15 days in Bluetooth-only mode. It supports magnetic fast charging and runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 2, compatible with Android 8.0+ and iOS 12.0+, though features like voice assistant and WeChat replies are limited to Android.
Smart Car Integration and Durability
The watch integrates with Xiaomi’s SU7 series vehicles via the Xiaomi Auto App, offering gesture controls and Mi Home connectivity. With a 5ATM water resistance rating, it is suitable for swimming and shallow-water activities.
Other Product Launches
Xiaomi also introduced the 15S Pro, featuring the 3nm Xring O1 chipset, a 6.73-inch 2K OLED display, Leica cameras, and a 6,100mAh battery. The Civi 5 Pro debuted with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and Leica-branded cameras, further expanding Xiaomi’s premium lineup.
