Vacheron Constantin has introduced its first-ever minute repeater within the Overseas collection—the Overseas Grand Complication Openface. This latest model elevates the luxury sports watch with an intricate blend of haute horlogerie and technical innovation.
A Masterpiece of Movement
At the heart of the Ref. 6510V/110T-128C lies the Calibre 2755 QP, a hand-wound movement first introduced in 2005. Comprising 602 components and measuring just 7.9 mm thick, it delivers a 58-hour power reserve. The minute repeater features a proprietary centripetal regulator, ensuring precise hammer strikes for accurate chimes. Additionally, the watch includes a perpetual calendar (displaying date, day, month, and leap-year cycles) and a tourbillon, requiring no adjustment until 2100.
Engineering Meets Elegance
Minute repeaters typically struggle with water resistance due to the sliding mechanism on the case side. However, Vacheron Constantin dedicated 18 months of R&D to overcome this challenge. The grade 5 titanium case maintains 30 meters (100 feet) of water resistance while preserving the Overseas collection’s signature silhouette. The redesigned sapphire crystal caseback offers a full view of the movement.
Design Details
The 44.5 mm x 13.1 mm case features an openworked dial, with 18-karat white gold hour markers and blue Super-Luminova-coated hands. The interchangeable strap system allows wearers to switch between a titanium bracelet, blue alligator leather, or blue rubber strap.
A Legacy of Travel and Luxury
Originally launched in 1996, the Overseas collection was designed as a high-end travel companion. Under the guidance of Vincent Kaufmann and designer Dino Modolo, it has evolved into one of Vacheron Constantin’s most iconic lines.
The Overseas Grand Complication Openface is produced in limited quantities, with pricing available upon request. This release solidifies Vacheron Constantin’s reputation for blending technical mastery with timeless design.
