Nomad has unveiled its latest innovation—a high-end USB-C cable featuring an integrated Apple Watch charging puck. Unlike competitors offering dual USB-C connectors, the Universal Cable for Apple Watch combines wired and wireless charging in a single cable, targeting users seeking to reduce clutter while on the go or at their workspace.
Power Delivery and Compatibility
To enable multi-device charging, the cable requires a minimum 20W power adapter. While rated for up to 100W power delivery, it prioritizes the wireless puck—limiting USB-C output to 92W when charging supported Apple Watch models (Series 7 through 10, Ultra, and Ultra 2) or AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4. Data transfer speeds, however, are capped at USB 2.0, a trade-off Nomad attributes to maintaining cable length.
Flexible Charging Options
Beyond wall adapters, the cable supports charging an Apple Watch directly from an iPhone when connected via USB-C. Users can also charge AirPods simultaneously by plugging them into the cable’s USB-C end, adding versatility for mobile scenarios.
Now available through Nomad’s online store, the Universal Cable caters to Apple enthusiasts willing to pay a premium for streamlined charging—though its price may deter budget-conscious buyers.
