On June 12 (U.S. local time), Apple updated its official refurbished product catalog, introducing the black titanium Apple Watch Ultra 2 for the first time since its September 2024 release. The online refurbished store also added Mac Studio models equipped with M4 Max and M3 Ultra chips.
Specifications
The refurbished black titanium Apple Watch Ultra 2 includes a black Ocean band and maintains the same hardware specifications as the standard 2023 model, with the only difference being its dark titanium coating.
Apple guarantees buyers that all certified refurbished products undergo full functionality testing, thorough cleaning, and quality checks. They come with a one-year limited warranty and are eligible for AppleCare+ extended warranty. Despite using eco-friendly packaging, refurbished models still include a fast charger.
Ongoing Patent Dispute Affects Blood Oxygen Feature
Due to an ongoing patent dispute with medical technology company Masimo, the blood oxygen monitoring feature remains disabled on all Apple Watch Ultra 2 models sold in the U.S., including refurbished ones. This restriction has been in place since 2023, and there is no current timetable for reactivation.
Flagship Smartwatch for Extreme Sports
The Ultra 2 continues to be Apple’s high-end smartwatch, designed for adventure sports with features such as dual-frequency GPS, a 49mm titanium case, and 100 meters of water resistance.
This marks the first time the black titanium variant is available as a certified refurbished product, offering consumers a more affordable entry point.
