Swatch has announced the release of its latest limited-edition timepiece, the Bioceramic MoonSwatch Mission to the Pink Moonphase, commemorating the annual Pink Moon phenomenon. The watch, a collaboration with Omega, features a striking pink bioceramic case, a moon-phase indicator, and a pulsometer scale—a nod to the iconic Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch.
Innovative Design with Functional Elegance
The pulsometer, a rare feature in modern watches, allows wearers to measure their heart rate effortlessly. By starting the chronograph at the first pulse and stopping it after 30 beats, the scale on the bezel displays the heart rate in beats per minute (BPM). A playful touch is added with an embossed heart on the 2 o’clock pusher.
The dial showcases intricate detailing, including grooved counters and a gradient pink hue. At the 2 o’clock subdial, a moon-phase indicator sits against a black and silver-pink opaline backdrop. Two pink moons, coated in Super-LumiNova, glow in the dark as they rotate beneath the mask. A hidden detail—Pink Moon lettering—appears under UV light.
Sustainable Craftsmanship and Wearability
Like its predecessors, the watch is made from Swatch’s proprietary bioceramic blend—two-thirds ceramic and one-third biosourced material derived from castor oil. The asymmetrical 42mm case offers 100 meters of water resistance and comes with a pink Velcro strap for a bold yet comfortable fit.
Limited Availability and How to Purchase
Starting April 1, the MoonSwatch Mission to the Pink Moonphase will be available for a limited time at select Swatch stores. Enthusiasts are encouraged to follow Swatch’s social media channels, where the brand’s signature pink Rolling Planets will hint at availability updates.
