Rolex has introduced three highly exclusive Daytona models for 2025, each featuring dials crafted from meteorite and housed in different gold alloys. While the brand showcased only one new Daytona at Watches and Wonders, a visit to Rolex’s Brussels offices revealed these celestial-inspired timepieces, along with several other under-the-radar references.
Among the hidden releases are two notable models: an updated yellow gold “John Mayer” Daytona (ref. 126508-0008, €48,800) and a striking white gold variant with a blue dial and red accents (ref. 126509-0005, €52,300). However, the spotlight remains on the three meteorite-dial Daytonas, which replace the six discontinued versions from 2021.
A Cosmic Upgrade: Ceramic Bezels and Oysterflex Bracelets
The new models—available in yellow, white, and Everose gold—feature redesigned elements, including ceramic bezel inserts and Oysterflex rubber bracelets instead of traditional metal bands. This update enhances both durability and aesthetics, as the meteorite dials benefit from the contrast of black ceramic.
Each watch maintains the Daytona’s signature 40mm case dimensions but introduces slimmer hour markers and panda-style sub-dials. The Oysterflex bracelet, reinforced with flexible metal blades, ensures comfort and resilience, while the Glidelock clasp allows for easy adjustments.
Choosing Your Celestial Companion
Yellow Gold (ref. 126518LN-0016, €42,200): The most classic of the trio, exuding timeless luxury.
Everose Gold (ref. 126515LN-0008, €44,100): A contemporary take with warm, rosy tones.
White Gold (ref. 126519LN-0007, €44,100): The most understated, offering subtle sophistication.
Despite their opulent materials, these watches are designed for everyday wear, though their exclusivity makes them unlikely candidates for true “beater” status.
Pricing and Hidden Gems
The new meteorite Daytonas come at a premium compared to their predecessors, reflecting rising gold prices and updated designs. Two additional stealth releases include a full-gold Everose Daytona with a chocolate-brown dial (ref. 126505-0005, €52,300) and a black ceramic-bezel version on Oysterflex (ref. 126515LN-0010, €39,600).
With these cosmic and classic options now unveiled, which Daytona captures your imagination? Stay tuned for hands-on reviews of the non-meteorite models.
