Geneva’s Watches and Wonders 2025 drew 55,000 visitors—a 12% increase from the previous year—solidifying its position as the watch industry’s most anticipated annual gathering. The event, held in early April amid global economic uncertainties, showcased the sector’s enduring strength with bold new releases and expanded participation.
Sixty brands exhibited, including Bvlgari, the Roman watch and jewelry powerhouse making its debut, alongside six independent makers such as Christiaan van der Klaauw. The fair’s growing influence was evident in both attendance and the caliber of innovations unveiled.
Patek Philippe Steals the Spotlight with Triple Launch
Among the highlights were three new models from Patek Philippe, each demonstrating the brand’s technical mastery and design finesse:
Quadruple Complication Ref. 5308G-001: A Masterpiece Joins the Main Collection
Originally launched as a 15-piece platinum limited edition in 2023, the Quadruple Complication now enters Patek’s permanent lineup in a 42mm white gold case with an ice-blue sunburst dial. Its four complications—minute repeater, instantaneous perpetual calendar, chronograph, and split-seconds function—are powered by the self-winding R CHR 27 PS QI movement, featuring two patented innovations. This remains one of the most complex watches in Patek’s current offerings.
Calatrava 8 Days Ref. 5328G-001: Precision Meets Elegance
A new 41mm white gold model with a textured deep-blue dial, the Ref. 5328G combines instantaneous day-date displays with an eight-day power reserve. The reserve indicator’s nine-segment arc hints at a ninth day of operation, though accuracy declines as amplitude drops. A testament to Patek’s balance of utility and aesthetics.
Calatrava Ref. 6196P: Understated Luxury Redefined
The 38mm platinum dress watch features an opaline rose-gilt dial and chocolate-brown alligator strap, embodying minimalist sophistication. Its white gold hour markers and hands are coated in anthracite for a stealth-luxury finish. Powered by the hand-wound 30-255 PS calibre, it delivers a 65-hour power reserve.
A Showcase of Resilience and Innovation
Against a backdrop of global challenges, Watches and Wonders 2025 proved the industry’s ability to captivate enthusiasts and collectors alike. Patek Philippe’s releases—ranging from high complications to refined simplicity—underscored horology’s enduring appeal and forward momentum.
